Fall Fashion Trends 2015

Lately I've been working on my project for my fashion marketing class. And to be honest, I was surprised by all the information I've gathered. Stick with me if you wanna know the latest Autumn trends for this year.

For my project, I had to based it off by 4 components of fashion

-Silhouette: The outlining/contour of the overall piece of apparel.

-Details: Embellishments or accessories that give the outfit a bit of definition.

-Texture: The way it feels such as the material made into the clothing.

-Color: Basically, the color palette that speaks to the clothes or trends in season.

First, the overall silhouette I've found were mermaid skirts, Bell sleeved, and Flared jeans. The mermaid silhouette gives the body a nice shape and elongates the legs. Bell sleeved are priceless with its extraordinary flow around the arms. And Flared jeans could never go wrong during the cold weather.

The details that are commonly used for this Autumn are Fringes, lace, Brooches, and crochets. I never knew that brooches were in season, but they do have a share of giving that outfit a nice touch. Crochets are nice because it gives off that Autumn effect (if you know what I mean).

Texture is important for this season due to the colder weather. Some material such as Tulle, Fur, and Shearling are used for most outfits. I could understand that shearling should be used for these outfits because they're basically wool, but at a different level.

The color trend for this season are your favorite fall colors including different shades within them. I'm surprised that these shades are named. Pantone is a great resource for the color trends.

Loving the cold weather! Let me know what you guys like to wear during Autumn and hopefully you'll be knowledgable for this season.

Fall colors are in season

Autumn has finally reach its mark which means a wardrobe change. I'm so excited to wear my favorite cardigans, boots, thigh socks, and beanies. The most important aspect about fall is to embrace their cool shades of color.

Color of the leaves are one example to be part of the autumn season. Orange, brown, dark reds, and black can be your go-to pigmentation. Reflecting the beauty of the leaves as they decay. Try a light brown cardigan with dark red (maroon) pants and a simple black shirt. Be creative mixing n' matching other clothes. Creating an outfit by this theme shows your autumn spirit.

Remember that colors aren't tolerated to one kind. The palette has a variety of shades that ranges. You can even wear your whole outfit to one kind of color. All pieces of clothing don't have to be the exact same color, so be bold and collect as many shades as you can. The best thing about dressing in the fall is that they have more shades than the rest of the other seasons.

I seriously love autumn not only because you get to wear your cozy outfits, but you can go with the theme. Be as expressive as you can for this season because autumn will eventually go by quick. Also, do enjoy the upcoming holidays and sweet treats. Stay warm loves!

Fashion life hacks: 8 ways to wear jeans

Jeans are the most basic apparel that everyone have in their closet. It's also a great piece to fit many different outfits. Here are 8 ways to style your jeans:

1) Blazer

Look classy with your favorite blazer. They are so versatile from business wear to casual outings. You could never go wrong with a blazer that compliments the jeans you're wearing.

2) Fedora hats

I didn't think fedora hats would be eye catching to jeans. They're amazing to wear in any season. Fedoras look best in short jeans so if you have a pair, then by all means try it.

3) Chunky boots

Chunky boots give you that classy look. Even though they can be a pain, but they're worth the fashion. Plus, they can add a nice physique to your figure.

4) Cardigans

Now, we can all say that cardigans are the most basic piece to wear with jeans. Believe it or not, they give your whole outfit a soft look even if you're pairing it of with a simple tank top.

5) Off shoulder shirt

Be comfy wearing your off shoulder shirt or sweater. It's super cute when you're in a lazy mood. I would like to pair if off with comfiest boots you can find.

6) Plaid shirts

Plaid shirts/cardigan has been a thing now in my school. It's really eye catching and looks very casual. Most have worn their button down plaid shirts as cardigans.

7) Roll up your jeans

If you have a short stature like me, then your best option is to roll up your jeans. Give your jeans a change by rolling them up. Many will think it's a new pair of jeans that you bought.

8) Tuck in your shirts

Another simple, but classy look is by having your shirts tucked into the jeans. Best with blouses or flowy shirts for that soft touch. A new style to wear the next day.

We should thank the person who created jeans. Without it, the fashion world will be so boring. I would love it if you guys try these out. If there's a certain way you wear your jeans then please share it!

How to decide what to wear

Each day is a whole new world. This means that we need an outfit to compliment the day. But sometimes we have no inspiration that we're left with a plain T-shirt and jeans. Don't worry, there are easy ways to get dress without looking too minimal.

Let's start by choosing clothes on the mood you're feeling. You could feel lazy on Mondays, edgy on Tuesday, or even wear pink on Wednesdays. Reflect yourself on what you want to feel like today. Some suggestions include holidays, seasons, emotions, creativity, and more. You could never go wrong with matching clothes by how you feel. Presenting how you feel can boost your confidence and shows your true self.

Colors do wonders in getting ready for the day. From warm to cool shades, you have a variety to choose from. Since autumn is coming, how about using autumn leave colors to reflect the season. A variety of palettes to choose from. You may even go by a theme of a color you choose for the day and mixing it up with similar shades. Colors give you personality and attention.

Last tip to rummaging through your closet is to find pieces that can perfectly match any day. What I mean is that find a shirt or pants that can be easily worn without looking mismatched. A simple T-shirt or a pair of jeans are an easy way to start your day, but try to add some attention to make it less boring. Add a plaid cardigan to warm up that outfit or you may even wanna put on some accessories. Also, it's okay to wear the same pieces throughout the week. Be sure you add a little something extra so nobody will notice.

I try these methods to help me pass the week without looking too dull. Hopefully, you guys can learn something. As always, smiles are the best accessories.

Finding fashion inspiration

Everyone has it hard trying to pick the most perfect outfit. Usually, we can be stuck looking for new ideas to complement our fashion sense. But luckily, fashion is seen as a bigger picture than what you think.

First off, define the word fashion (And no, it doesn't mean looking it up into the dictionary). Basically, describe it how you would look into it. For me, I believe fashion is express as art that colors our personality. Once you've got that done, the magic will start to begin.

Next, source out this miracle such as social media, magazines, scenery, models, paintings, buildings, advertisement, makeup, furniture, antiques, or ANYTHING! You can find tons of valuable info by just
seeking out the right items. The more sources you have, the greater your mind will thank you for new ideas.

Okay, here's the crucial part, reaching for that gut feeling. It can be hard just by looking into one object. But take your time thinking about it. Use your imagination. Create a piece of clothing out of your mind that has the same feel. For example, watching the Eiffel Tower from Paris. How about a Parisian theme sweater with gorgeous roses to reflect the city of romance? That idea can make you start thinking about other clothing pieces to choose from. It's not hard unless you try and take your time. Even better if you can just draw out the clothes you're thinking about onto paper.

Last thing to help you guys on your journey for creative thinking is to take a break. You may not instantly reach out what you wanted, but it doesn't mean it's hopeless. You need a breather, relax the mind. Stress makes it harder for you to concentrate. Daydream helps both encourage inspiration and easy relaxation. So, drift off into space and who knows where you'll end up because fate can be brought to you when you least expected.

Easy-peasy things to grab a bit of thinking. These are the things I do to keep myself motivated. Now, I'm sharing it with you guys so that you can think like a fashionista without trying.

Fashion life hack: Summer pieces to spice your outfit

Different seasons comes with different looks. Since it's summer, presenting your outfits with that vibe is crucial. Here are some pieces to give your clothes a more summery feel:

You'll need:
-sunglasses
-Hair ties
-Flash Tattoos
-Sandal Jewelry
-Tropical head crown

1) Sunglasses

Protecting the eyes is very important. At the same time, you'll be able to look stylish with your favorite pair of sunglasses. It's the basic fashion statement, but it'll definitely show off your summer look. And taking a selfie under a bright day would look amazing. Even if you're not into wearing sunglasses, you can always hang them in your shirt. An accessory you can't forget about.

2) Hair ties

Okay, hair ties are interchangeable from ponytails to hugging the wrists. Plus, it's a bonus while wearing a t-shirt. How? Well, all you need to do is take a hair tie and just tie the lower part of your shirt (either from left or right) then voila! You got yourself a new look kinda like a crop top, but much cuter. Always keep a handy hair tie with you because hey, there may be times you need to pull your hair back or shirt.

3) Flash Tattoos

Omg! My favorite summertime essentials are flash tats. They're super cool to wear like at night times. Brightening your smile and clothes and giving off a tropical bohemian is wonderful. I prefer ones either the wrist, arms, tummy, or hands. I've seen some in Sephora, but it can be a little pricey. But there's always diy flash tats if you want an alternative.

4) Sandal Jewelry

Or as some people call them, "Barefoot Sandal Thongs." I think these foot jewelry are super adorable because they shimmer and give off personality. When going barefoot, always have your feet styled. I know it's a weird thing to do, but it really completes the look. It's great when wearing a maxi dress at the beach as it flows through the sunset and your sandal accessory shining with passion.

5) Tropical Head Crown

The last go-to summer items are tropical head crowns. Just like flower crowns, but a more appropriate touch for summer. You could never go wrong with these. Wearing them makes you look like a Hawaiian  goddess. I think this last item looks beautiful in any apparel. They're also easy to make if you're into diy crafting.

That's it! A few pieces that can make your outfit stand out under the sun. But the last thing I always believe is a great accessory is to smile, so keep that in mind. Enjoy your summer while it last!

Fashion life hack series: How to color match your clothes w/ neutrals

Everywhere we go there's color. It's a blessing to have this creation because it's the art to express things. Same for our clothing, they can be express by defining ourselves. But how do they compliment each other? A variety of pigmentation to choose from, yet it can be hard to mix n' match. So let's begin our journey shall we!

The very basic tool that you'll ever need are neutrals. Yep, they're the basic colors that you know and love.

For instance...
-White
-Black
-Brown
-Navy
-Grey

These colors fit pretty much with all colors especially black. They make great supporting pieces when fusing colors for one outfit. Here's a trick you can use, it called the one color call. Basically, pick one non neutral color and then for the rest of the outfit go with neutral. Also, you can use more than one neutral color, but to play it safe, try not to go beyond more than two. Here's an example...

-Pink blouse, black skirt, navy blazer
-White V neck, red undershirt, Black jeans
-Light purple shirt, grey sweater, white pants

This method works well on patterned or small details such as check print, stripes, belts, earrings, etc. Neutrals are your life savers so don't neglect them.

Hope you guys like this post. If you want to see more color matching guides then tell me in the comments.

Ootd: Wearing all black today!

Top: Forever 21
Bottom: Forever 21
Shoes: Forever 21

I decided to dress in my favorite color and yes it's black. I know it's a dark color to wear in the summer where the blazing heat will burn my skin.

Much of these pieces are from forever 21 and basically it's more of a cheaper store with clothes I'm totally in love with haha.

The top is sheer material and slightly see through and from behind it's crochet into a racer back style. I love the floral pattern and looks super cute. My bottoms are actually high waisted and can sometimes be uncomfortable, but it didn't bother me much. There are front pockets which are a bonus and they have imitation pockets from behind with buttons attached. Lastly, my flats are pretty much suede so at times they do pick up some fur. They're comfortable to walk and I didn't slip out unlike other flats I've had.

Thanks for taking your time!

Fashion life hack series: 10 wardrobe essentials

1) pencil skirt

This is a pretty basic item for any girls' wardrobe. It's classy and alluring for those night outs or business meetings. Black is preferable as it fits for almost many tops and colors.

2) white v-neck

Now, casual days are all about casual clothing. Need something neutral then try wearing a white v-neck shirt or at least a tee. They come in all colors and emphasizes the chest area more with that V design.

3) skinny jeans

Skinny jeans are pretty self explanatory. I mean who doesn't have at least one pair of skinny jeans? It gives off the illusion of longer legs and pairs off well with any shoes, tops, and accessories. I highly recommend being extraordinary and find some bright colors.

4) cross body purse

Cross body purse is not always a must for everyone. But if you're in a casual date then this purse would be great to bring along. Not only is it subtle, but it's more secure to your body.

5) tights

You can't go wrong with some tights. Great for cold days, hide leg hair, and feeling sexier under skirts. They come in amazing designs, patterns, colors, and style. They really come in handy for any occasion.

Ootd: Casually Stylish

                Top: Yesstyle
                Flannel: Wet seal
                Shorts: Forever 21
                Shoes: Nordstrom

Today, I decided to be a little more tom boyish, yet stylish. Usually, I'm so bland when finding clothes in my closet, but finding inspiration on Instagram has help creating this look.

My flannel and shorts were given by my sis, yet I bought the NY shirt and Sperrys.

I love how this top is so breathable to wear and it's slightly transparent, but overall it's versatile. My flannel was a bit tight at the back, but the light color was so easy to wear in the summer. The shorts had two buttons at the front for extra security so I didn't had to worry about it falling off. And lastly, the Sperrys came in a navy blue unlike the original color which I definitely prefer because khaki/tan wasn't my style.

Thanks for taking your time!

Fashion life hacks series: 7 Household items for pick-me ups

Hello Sunshine! I've decided to solve every girl's fashion dilemma with a new series called, "Fashion Life Hacks." Basically, I will be committed to post about easy touch ups, unbelievable items for your clothes, and many interchangeable fashion items to save you time and money.

Did you know that most of your household items are a life saver to quick fixes? Unbelievable, right? So, here are 7 household items that are hella useful to you and your lovely apparel:

1) Hairspray

Hairspray has many uses besides smoothing fly-aways. They are perfect for stopping runs on your tights. Runs are those scary ladder patterns kinda like ripped jeans, but on tights. And seriously, it isn't that attractive as you think unless you're like a vampire. Just spray an inch away from the tights and voila! Now, this will lessen the appearance and reduce it from becoming any larger.

Also, hairspray is wonderful for removing lipstick. We are all victims of accidentally spilling our lip product onto our beautiful outfits. But don't worry, hairspray makes an amazing remover. Spray it on the lipstick stain and let it sit for a few minutes. Then wipe it off and it should come right out. Afterwards, you can wash it as usual for better results.

2) Vinegar

Vinegar has been an all-time favorite for mothers. They get the job done for many situations and proven to help keep our clothes in top-notch. Try using white distilled vinegar since they have no tannins nor any dyed plus its inexpensive.

Everyone has a pair of leather shoes right? They usually have water stains. Pour vinegar and cold water into a spray bottle and shake it a few times. Now, spray it on the stain and it should be gone. Easy right?

Jeans are vulnerable to fading away in the washing machine especially the dark fabrics. Just, add 1/2 cup of white distilled vinegar to the last wash cycle and there you go. Washed jeans without a sight of color change.

3) Nail polish remover

Every girl must have a bottle of nail polish remover. They also have a place for saving any dirty shoes. Dab some nail polish remover onto the dirt and wipe it off with a piece of napkin or cloth. Make sure that the nail polish remover is acetone-free or else it could eat up the material especially if it's man made.

You can also try it on your clothes for tough stains. But this can be too risky because there could be a high chance that it will mess up the clothing. So, use with caution!

4) Stale bread

Did you know stale bread is a wonderful stain remover for suede? Suede is a delicate material kinda like a plush cushion. With that delicate material, of course it will get dirt easily. So, using your stale bread will definitely remove any mud or dirt. Just use the crust and rub it off gently. Having stale bread is an amazing remover, but don't keep it when it gets moldy.

5) Ice

We all have at least one pair of heels in our closet. But at times, when we keep these high heels, they can be a little too tight. Don't worry! Ice does a well done job. Place a couple of ice into a ziploc bag and snug it in the heels where your toes are. Put it in the freezer to avoid melting for about a few hours and your shoes should be stretched.

6) Razor

You probably hate those "pills" or shedding fuzzies lying around your sweaters or any fabric. That's when razors come in handy. To begin, lay out your apparel on a flat surface (floor, table, desk). With your razor, shave the pills in a downward motion gently. Be careful though! The razor might accidentally cut off any excess fabric, thread, or buttons. Do it with caution and at your own risk. It's also recommended that you use an old razor that you're not planning to use anymore.

7. Straws

Hoodies are essential for a lazy and casual look. But sometimes, we have those pesky drawstrings that come out and difficult to place back. Don't worry, my dear. Luckily, straws have a purpose in fixing problems. Thread the drawstring into the straw and direct it inside and it should be back where it belongs. Not only does it work for hoodies, but it can also be use on shorts and sweatpants.

Easy-peasy pick-me ups that are quick, useful, and available in the house. I hope you guys try these methods out and stay tune for more "Fashion Life Hacks."

See ya later! Ciao ^__^
